Rosen - Raum, 2003, a multi-media installation addresses the overuse of symbols of beauty in our society.
While a single rose or a bunch of freshly cut roses can be considered truly beautiful, the "beauty" of this installation is all too much.
Not only are the pictured roses not real roses but fabric ones; covering each and all available surfaces, including table, chair and light cord, with the rose patterned gift wrap makes one want to leave the room almost immediately after entering.
Maybe a game with one of the rose balls outside would be sufficient?
The room shell was built by Johannes Uellner, Atelierhof Bremen.
